Whitening Patient Take-Home Instructions
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE STARTING PROTOCOL

WHITENING PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS:

⦁ Wear your at-home whitening trays for at least 14 consecutive days.
⦁ You have been prescribed a professional strength whitening gel with the concentration of 35% Carbamide Peroxide.
⦁ It is recommended that you wear your trays for 30 minutes per day.
⦁ Brush your teeth immediately prior to whitening.
⦁ Inject whitening gel into the tray as was instructed in the dental office.
⦁ Use a Q-Tip or your finger to remove the excess gel so as to not “burn” your gums.
⦁ After removing the trays, rinse your mouth with luke warm water.
⦁ Clean the trays with Q-Tips under COOL running water. Warm or hot water may distort the trays.
⦁ Store trays in a safe location away from extreme heat and pets.
⦁ When you are finished with the entire whitening process, place any remaining whitening gel syringes in the refrigerator to extend the shelf life.
⦁ During the two weeks of at-home whitening, stay away from staining foods and drinks such as red wines, tomato based sauces, coffee, tea and blueberries, etc.
⦁ Avoid smoking during the whitening process to achieve maximum results.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

⦁ You may experience slight sensitivity on your gums or teeth, if so, decrease wear time.
⦁ White spots that appear on the enamel during the whitening process may blend during continued whitening.
⦁ Teeth are naturally darker at the gum line. These areas may require more time to lighten than the rest of the tooth surface and usually remain slightly darker.
⦁ You may consider “touching up” once a month to maintain your results.
